Fun Filled Saturday!

We spent most of the day at the zoo - the weather was gorgeous and abnormally mild! We were quite surprised to see all of the animals out still!

Dylan enjoyed the caves more than the bears!

...and of course throwing leaves!

We stopped for lunch at a picnic table (with an umbrella hole!) which Dylan found incredibly fun!

This was the only elephant ride the zoo offers! It didn't move, but it was still fun!

We ended the day, making pizza! Dylan wanted to just eat the sauce with a spoon, mmm....

It was a very cheesy pizza, and delicious! Dylan kept clean with his Home Depot work apron.

Dylan also helped mom put the hershey kisses on the cookies. Of course, he ate just as many as he put on the cookies - boy loves his "chah-kit"!

Enjoy this video of Dylan counting till jump off! ...he doesn't always get the numbers in the right order...but he tries hard!

Dylan's BIG hike at the Bird Sanctuary

Dylan's adventure started in the big barn at the Norman Bird Sanctuary.

...tried to catch the chickens outside...

Then off to the woods to hike.
Mom had a hard time keeping up with Dylan! He is a good hiker! We made it to the top of the rocks overlooking the ocean...Dylan was very excited! And poor Dad had to carry him almost all the way back!

Cape Vacation

We enjoyed a long weekend vacation at one of our favorite spots on the cape, near Nauset Beach. Our cottage was on the water and to Dylan's absolute delight, there was a windmill just through the trees next to us! Of course, last time we went, Dylan was only nine months, so crawling didn't quite get him access to the windmill! This year, watch out! If we turned out backs for a minute Dylan would be taking off to trek through the trees and up the hill to hang out at the windmill! Of course, he did spend some time practicing his paddling as he was "surfin" on the canoe in our yard!
Not sure, when or how, but Dylan has discovered "funny faces" now and he likes to bust them out when he feels the mood! (like when he was partying at the windmill!)
Dylan took special delight in the duck which was attached to our driveway - I think he felt it was put there just for him! He liked to push the duck's head down to help it eat grass, of course, he tried to ride the duck but flew off over the top of the front of it!
Dylan loved running down to the water to throw rocks.
Dylan and Dad enjoying their morning coffee! (don't tell Dylan that his was warm chocolate milk!)
You can just see Dylan's red sweatshirt as he sneaks off through the trees and up the hill to the windmill!

We went on many beach walks and hikes in the woods near the beaches. Dylan and Dad were practicing corn husk sword fights! Dylan is getting good!

Thank you Dylan for waking us up at 6:30am EVERY morning on vacation so we could see the sun rise from our deck! The sunrises were different every morning and absolutely spectacular!

Dad got Dylan his first comic book (Mom didn't realize it would be such a hit!). He was REALLY into it!

Great boardwalk trails at Fort Hill.

Dylan hiked up his first tower - as Mom and Dad held their breath with each step!
Well, this is bathtime - yes, in the cooler! There was only a shower, no tub, so we had to get creative - Dylan wanted a bath in the cooler every day! This is his Clifford the Big Red Dog impression:

...vacation is tiring...but don't be misled, Dylan is only pretending to snore out on the deck!

We played at Nauset Beach many times. Dylan and Dad rolled down the dunes! Dylan could live at the beach - no doubt.
