Hiking at Ell Pond

The road race wasn't enough adventure for me so I told Mom and Dad that we should go hiking with our friends. We took off across the bridges to South County somewhere and I fell asleep. When I woke up we were at Ell Pond. I was ready for a nice easy stoll after the long race, but Mom and Dad had taken me rock climbing instead! It was so exciting! Here's a picutre of me and my Daddy before we climbed that big rock...Then there is my whole family at the top of the rock next to the pond!
I didn't know how much work rock climbing was, so I fell asleep again.
I was so tired I slept up and down the ravine till we got to the car! Thanks Reb, Aaron, and Lisa for taking me and Mom and Dad on such a fun trip!

My First 5K

Little D here...this picture's of me and my momma. I told Mom and Dad that I wanted to get out and do things this Saturday, so I took them out to a road race - my first 5k - to benefit the Norman Bird Sanctuary. [We like to take hikes there and look at birds and animals]. So I put on my sweatband and knee socks. [I didn't want sweat running down my face while I pushed mom and dad in the jogging stroller]. I heard that great runners don't wear sneakers either...
I wasn't sure if my black sweatband fit Dad, but I let him wear it anyway so he would feel like a runner like me...
So, I thought I was going to push Mom and Dad, but they told me to go ahead and relax for this run, since it was my morning nap time anyway. [I was kinda tired, so I hopped in the stroller]. All of us kids in strollers got a little tired of just sitting around waiting for the starting gun to go off, so we all started chatting amoungst ourselves...[So...our parents started pushing the strollers forward and backward as if revving an engine, trying to pacify us. Us little guys in strollers just kept telling them to get going and start the race already!].
Finally, the gun went off and we took off [now I don't really mean that in a fast sort of pace...maybe like a fast turtle?].
The race was great, Mom and Dad pushed me the whole way and it was a blast! I thought it would be fun to push them, but I actually really enjoyed making them sweat!
We made it! Now for refreshments! Congratulations!

Big Pool, Little Pool

Dylan here...went to Grandpa's house and it was so hot out! I was breaking a sweat just thinking about crawling. Well, Grandma went down to the store and bought me a pool. Of course I had to fight Dad for the pool, but eventually we figured out how we could both fit in it. [Told him they bought it for me, but he said something about being the firstborn, so I told him I was too and I was much cuter anyway cause I only have two teeth!].
Mom and Dad took me to our pool at our house and BOY!...that was a big pool! They put me in this plastic thing [not soft like the couch] and I wiggled my legs all around. It was ok, made me a little nervous though. After a while I realized it was pretty cool. Mom and Dad looked like they were having fun.
